Our Team

City Girls DC (CGDC) is a social club for women+ that seeks to promote physical and mental wellness through walking, community engagement, and advocacy in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, identities who identify as a “City Girl.”

Founder & President

Abigail S.J.

Abby is the President and Founder of City Girls DC! In her day job, Abby works in Government Relations and advocates on topics from health care to disaster response. She also previously worked as nurse in TN and here in DC! In her spare time, Abby loves traveling and finding new books to read.

Vice President of Operations

Alexia C.S.

Alexia has been in the DMV since the summer of 2022, and works as a Program Coordinator. Prior to moving, she found CGDC and was thrilled to begin attending events to find a community. Outside of work and CGDC, Alexia enjoys cycle classes, baking sourdough, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Vice President of Programming

Taleah M.

Taleah works in the marketing field & moved to the DMV from Richmond, VA in 2019! She joined CGDC when she was looking for new friends & activities to attend in DC! Outside of work, Taleah loves spending time with family and friends, tap dancing and enjoying the best things that DC has to offer!

Director of Technology

Sarah H.

Sarah moved to the DC from South FL in 2021 to obtain her Masters at GWU. She has been a member of CGDC since its founding and loves the welcoming and diverse community. You can find her doing announcements at any of the CGDC walks or any of book clubs!

Director of Community and Member Engagement

Emma H.

Emma is originally from Springboro, Ohio, and has called the DMV home for a cumulative of five years. She’s found her rhythm in DC through quiet afternoons reading at the National Portrait Gallery and grounding walks and picnics in Malcolm X Park. Drawn to City Girls DC by its mission, Emma is energized by the opportunity to meet others who are equally committed to building authentic connections and community.

Shannon T.

Shannon moved to DC to attend law school in 2019. Although her home state of Minnesota still has a special place in her heart, she fell in love with DC and decided to stay for good. Shannon joined CGDC to find local community after graduating.

Director Of Operations

Pate F.

Originally from North Carolina, Pate has been in the DMV for nearly a year. She loves walking along the National Mall, exploring museums, and discovering new restaurants. After finding City Girls DC, she quickly became involved and credits the organization for introducing her to some of her favorite people in the area because of the inclusive and welcoming community.

Director of Walks

Sami S.

Sami moved to DC from Southern California in the summer of 2025. She works for a nonprofit as an Events and Education Manager. She joined City Girls DC to find a community and explore the DMV. At CGDC events, she loves meeting new people and getting out of her comfort zone. She enjoys reading, running, and traveling.

Caitie D.

Caitie moved to DC from North Carolina in 2024, but grew up here and have loved the energy of the city for as long as she can remember. She joined City Girls after moving because I was looking for fun ways to explore the city and some of her favorite spots are Constitution Gardens and the Georgetown waterfront.

Marissa D.

Marissa moved to DC from Georgia in 2025 after graduating law school, but is originally from NY. Exploring all the amazing museums in DC and walking my two dogs are some of her favorite things to do. She knew I wanted to join City Girls DC because she values friendship and community.
